3 players who failed in Premier League, but actually shine in their careers

English Premier League is already recognized as one of the most competitive leagues, compared to four other top European leagues such as the Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga or French Ligue 1. Evidently, some players have difficulty adapting to the English Premier League, even some of them are considered to have failed. But interestingly, the following 3 players who were labeled failed in the Premier League, then shined when with their careers. Who are they?

1. Memphis Depay

This Dutch winger was predicted to be the new Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United when he was recruited from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2015. Labeled as the back number 7 of Ronaldo’s legacy, the public is increasingly expecting this former Dutch league top scorer. Unfortunately, his career in England was far from expectations, only scoring 2 goals in 29 Premier League matches. He later joined the French club, Olympique Lyon.

Together with Lyon, Depay actually shines, even so far he has packed 50 goals from a total of 130 appearances in all competitions.

2. Florian Thauvin

Few know the name of this player, he is a French star who plays for Marseille. Later, Thauvin performed brilliantly with the Ligue 1 club, even he entered the French squad that won the 2018 World Cup last. In fact, before this Thauvin was labeled a failure with Newcastle United. Since being recruited from Marseille, Thauvin has only scored 1 goal in 16 matches.

Finally, he was loaned again to Marseille, because he performed brilliantly, the official player was permanently bailed out.

3. Radamel Falcao

Falcao was so bright with Atletico Madrid, he was then recruited by AS Monaco. But because of a long injury, Falcao suffered a decline in performance, he was then loaned out to Manchester United. Unfortunately, the Colombian’s performance tends to be bad during the Red costume. Eventually he was returned to AS Monaco, and instead performed brilliantly together with the French Ligue 1 Giant.

In his first season since returning from the loan spell, Falcao even scored 30 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions.
