After failing in an effort to bring in young Dutch talent, Frenkie De Jong, the Premier League giant, Manchester City, did not want to meet their failure to attract other young talent. This time, the defending champion of English Premier League managed to get the service of Croatian young talent, Ante Palaversa. The 18-year-old was recruited by City from the Croatian club, Hajduk Split, but the concerned did not directly approach the Etihad, but was first loaned to his native club.
Since being under the direction of manager Pep Guardiola, Manchester City has prioritized young players in every transfer market. Previously, the Premier League giants had been linked with the young star of the Netherlands, Frenkie De Jong, but Citizens failed in their efforts to hook the 21-year-old, as he chose to join Barcelona.
Not wanting their target to go back out of reach, City immediately moved quickly to get the service of Croatian young talent, Ante Palaversa. Yes, the 18-year-old young talent has just officially joined Manchester City. Ante was redeemed from one of the Croatian League clubs, Hajduk Split, but even so, the player did not get close to the Etihad, but first spent a loan period together with his native club until the summer of 2020. Even so, City had the right to withdraw the player in the winter of January of the same year.
Related to this transfer, Ante himself claimed to be very happy but was ready to provide proof that he was worthy of being recruited by Manchester city.
“I am Hajduk, playing in Poljud is my dream and I am happy to see the hard work of the Hajduk academy read by one of the big clubs in the world. Thank you for the trust given from Manchester City, but I still have a myriad of jobs. I have not shown the best and hope playing for Hajduk can be evidence to redeem that belief, “said the young player.
This season Palaversa has recorded 14 appearances with Hajduk this season with a contribution of two goals and he has managed to build a reputation as one of the promising players in the future. Palaversa have strengthened Croatia at all young levels between Under-14 and U-19 and have the potential to be called into the senior national team for Euro 2020.
