Not even E seasons as a manager of Manchester United, the Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho has been sacked from his position in the manager’s seat. Indeed, this dismissal left the impression that the former Chelsea coach was not satisfying in terms of performance, but when compared to the other two coaches after Ferguson, according to Liverpool’s legend, Steven Gerrard, Mourinho was the best coach MU had after Sir Alex’s departure.
Jose Mourinho, 55 years old, actually just started dealing with Manchester United in the summer 2016 transfer window, replacing the previous manager, Louis Van Gaal who was also expelled from the manager’s seat. In his first season, the former Real Madrid coach managed to bring the Red Devils to 3 titles, each of which was the FA Community Shield, League Cup and Europe League title.
While in the 2nd season, or in the 2017/18 season yesterday, Jose Mourinho failed to bring Manchester United back to the title, but their achievement in second place in the Premier League final was the best position for the Red Devils since Sir Alex Ferguson’s abandonment. Even so, there was news that claimed that Mourinho would be kicked out of the manager’s seat last summer, but the Portuguese coach was finally retained.
Unfortunately, following a series of defeats and other disappointing results earlier this season, especially when finished with Liverpool with a final score of 3-1, the Manchester United finally took a decisive decision to dismiss Mourinho. Many later felt sympathy with this dismissal, including Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who considered Mourinho the best coach since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
“He [Mourinho] is a winner, isn’t that right? How can I sit here and say something bad about Jose Mourinho? He is the winner wherever he goes. He had indeed been fired by United but he helped them win two trophies. He has done the best job since Alex Ferguson retired. ”
“They had difficulties before, but then Jose came and presented two titles, so I don’t think you can criticize him too much. It will be interesting to see what direction they will go with the new manager, but no Manchester United’s fans care about what I say!” said Gerrard at the Rangers press conference session.
