Juventus will soon face Ferencvaros in week 3 of the European Champions League Group phase. Coach Andrea Pirlo emphasized that his team has learned a lot from the previous defeat against Barcelona.
As is known, Juventus faced Barcelona on the 2nd Matchdays of the European Champions League Group phase last week. In this match, the Bianconneri did appear without full strength.
For example, Cristiano Ronaldo has to be absent because he has to undergo self-quarantine due to the Corona virus. As a result, Juventus were helpless, beating at home with a landslide score of 0-2.
Goals from Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi automatically represented the Bianconneri’s first defeat since being coached by Andrea Pirlo.
Of course the defeat was bitter, but Juventus had to move on, especially at the dawn of WIB (05/11) they will face Ferencvaros on the 3rd matchdays.
Ahead of the match, coach Andrea Pirlo emphasized that his team had learned a lot from the defeat of Barca.
“Budapest is a beautiful city, I’ve been here before and have fond memories of it. We are here to play football and win games, ”
“The defeat to Barcelona made us realize where we have to develop, that we need more determination and organization to play at a certain level,” Pirlo told a press conference as quoted by Football Italia.
Furthermore, regarding the defeat to Barcelona, Pirlo admitted that his team would be in better condition when they faced the Spanish representative at the Camp Nou.
“Maybe meeting Barca at the start of the season is a good thing, because we will be in better shape when we visit them.” he snapped.
Actually, Ferencvaros is clearly very different from Barcelona where Juventus could easily win. However, Pirlo is reluctant to underestimate the strength of the opponent.
According to him, every match in the European Champions League is never easy.
“There are some players who are fast and aggressive, they feed well, and they deserve respect. Every Champions League game is difficult and it is worth three points, the same as against Barcelona, ”he said.
