The Moroccan National Team defender, Medhi Benatia, spoke up regarding the unfavorable situation he experienced at Juventus at this time, as coach Max Allegri rarely gave him the chance to appear. Admittedly by the former AS Roma player, that the competition in Juventus’ main squad is so tight, therefore, he is determined to continue working hard to get one place.
Medhi Benatia was redeemed by Juventus from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window in 2017, where he had previously been loaned out only by the German Bundesliga giants during the 2016/17 season. Benatia has managed to perform well in the last two seasons in Turin, becoming a mainstay in the back line of the club, helping Juventus won two Scudetto titles, two Coppa Italia and one step into the European Champions League final.
Unfortunately, Leonardo Bonucci’s return in the transfer market last summer from AC Milan made Benatia’s playing quota erode slowly. At the beginning of this season, it was very rare that the 31-year-old player was revealed as a starter. Obviously, this situation is not good for the former AS Roma player. He certainly felt disappointed, but was aware of the high competition in the Juventus main team.
Therefore, Benatia claimed he would continue to fight for a place in Juventus’ main squad.
“I did play less when compared to last year, but, I will always try to be in a state ready and give everything. All want to play and disappointing not to play in a few games. But, at Juventus we have two teams with the same level. So, I have to train harder and be ready when I get a call, “said Benatia on Juventus TV.
At present, the competition is taking a break because of the international break for the next two weeks. Juventus will face Genoa on 20 October, before facing Manchester United in the Champions League.
