Arthur Melo was finally willing to be released to Juventus, he also said goodbye to Barcelona, which he had just defended for the last two seasons.
For information, Arthur Melo was signed from Gremio in 2018 and had recorded 72 appearances and four goals in all competitions. Although his performance at the age of 24 was very promising, he still left the squad.
He even had to move to Juventus this summer, becoming part of midfielder Miralem Pjanic’s transfer deal from the opposite direction.
Initially, Arthur Melo refused this option, but after some time the player finally accepted the deal.
Now that the European Champions League has officially ended, Arthur can fully prepare himself to move to Turin. Prior to that, he said goodbye to Barcelona via a video message uploaded on his official Twitter account.
“Saying goodbye is always difficult, it’s even harder to leave a place that has become my home,”
“An extraordinary city, which is always in my heart. Where everyone accepts me as a Catalan, shows a new culture, helps me grow as a player and most importantly, as a human being,” said Arthur in a video posted on Twitter.
Furthermore, the Brazilian National Team player admitted that he was proud to have been part of Barcelona’s fantastic squad. He also thanked the Barcelona fans who from day one continued to support and greet him warmly.
“I left a great group of players. I feel lucky to be able to play with them and, most importantly, I am grateful for their support as good people with big hearts.”
“The crowd won my heart from day one, making me proud to play for them and wear one of the best shirts in the world.” he concluded.
According to information, in this agreement, Juventus will still pay a certain amount of money, considering that Arthur’s official price is higher than Miralem Pjanic.
It’s just that, there has been no official announcement from the two clubs until now.
