Speculation of a move from Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal from Barcelona has recently been widely discussed by Spanish media. Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde himself had earlier revealed that Vidal was an important player this season for his team. But in a recent statement, Valverde did not close the door for Vidal to leave.
For information, lately Arturo Vidal is indeed associated with one of the Italian Serie A giants, Inter Milan. At the moment the Barcelona midfielder has difficulty getting regular playing opportunities at Camp Nou. Vidal has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season. However, the former Juventus player has only made 4 games as a starter.
Most recently, Vidal played in a match against Atletico Madrid last weekend, where he only played for 17 minutes. No wonder Inter Milan take advantage of this situation to hook the former Bayern Munich player. Previously, coach Ernesto Valverde had stressed that the Chilean player was an important figure for his team.
However, in a recent statement, the manager did not close the exit for the 32-year-old figure.
“Vidal is our player. We are happy with him. There are so many rumors. We will see tomorrow whether he is playing or not. And when the January transfer window arrives, we will see what happens. There are many things that happened in January but it is true We have a lot of midfielders. Some have played more than others but all are needed.” Valverde said as reported by Soccerway.
Furthermore, Valverde spoke about another Barcelona midfielder, Ivan Rakitic. The Croatian has rarely had the chance to appear this season, along with the arrival of Frenkie De Jong and Arthur’s increasingly demanding performance.
“Rakitic is an example of a player who is very reliable for many things. In the same way that there are moments when he is not playing, he continues to train with us to get a chance to play.”
“The fact that he has performed well in the last two matches, and of course we are happy about that. We will see what happens in the next few games. He is in a difficult period,” said Valverde.
