Barcelona threatened to be eliminated from the Copa Del Rey

The case of Denis Cheryshev who once forced Real Madrid out of the Copa Del Rey four years ago has the potential to be repeated this season, but involves rival clubs Los Blancos, Barcelona. The reason, the Catalan giant was found lowering one of the players who were undergoing suspension sanctions in the first leg of the last 16 of the King’s Cup against Levante.

As is known, Barcelona has just managed to secure a ticket to the Copa Del Rey quarter-finals this season after packing a 3-0 victory over Levante in the last 16 second leg at Camp Nou. Indeed, in the first leg match at the headquarters of Levante, Barcelona beat with a final score of 1-2, but they still have the right to qualify because of winning 4-2 aggregate total.

However, there is still nothing left of the story of the two big 16 round meetings between the two teams, as the Catalan giants took down one of their academy players, Chumi, in the first leg of last week’s match. Chumi himself is considered a player who should not be revealed in the match, because previously the concerned received five yellow cards with Barcelona B in the Segunda division event.

If found guilty, Barcelona was threatened with a similar fate as Real Madrid when sent off from the Copa Del Rey event because it was found lowering players who were being suspended, Denis Cheryshev in 2015 ago. Catalan giants themselves reportedly refused to be sanctioned, because they felt sanctions Chuwi suspension only applies in the La Liga event.

But Levante who feels Barcelona is guilty, is ready to submit this claim to the RFEF as the Spanish football federation. This has also been confirmed by President Levante, Quico Catalan.

“This is not an easy situation, as people who are involved in the world of sports we prefer to win on the field. Whatever happens [in the second leg], Levante will face the federation with this situation tomorrow [Friday]. There will be complaints if we do not qualify. And if we qualify, there will be a report to the federation to explain what happened”, said the President of Catalan Levante Quico.
