Bayern Munchen officially ‘signed back’ Douglas Costa

Last season’s European Champions League winners, Bayern Munich did not want to be outdone by the deadline day of the transfer market this summer. Hansi Flick’s troops have just officiated the transfer of Brazilian winger Douglas Costa.

Douglas Costa’s future at Juventus is indeed a topic of conversation throughout the transfer market this summer. This is because the player is not included in the plans of the new Bianconneri coach, Andrea Pirlo.

There were a number of European giants including the big teams in Italy who were linked with the Brazilian winger. However, in the end Costa agreed to return to the arms of his ex, Bayern Munich.

This transfer news was then confirmed directly by Die Roten. In his official statement, Bayern admitted to only borrowing Costa for the next season.

“FC Bayern got Douglas Costa from Juventus on loan,” said an official statement from FC Bayern.

At the same time, Douglas Costa himself admitted that he was happy with this move. He has fond memories of Bayern before and is determined to repeat them again at this new opportunity.

“I’m very happy to be playing with FC Bayern again. I had a wonderful time in Munich and I had a lot of success here. I’m sure we will win titles again.” So said the player.

In a separate place, Hasan Salihamidzic as the Sports Director of Bayern Munich, welcomed this transfer positively. This is because he believes that Douglas Costa no longer needs time to adapt.

“Douglas will strengthen our wing sector and that’s important for our game. With Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala and DOuglas, we have a lot of top players in that position, so the coach can rotate.”

“Douglas knows FC Bayern and he can adapt well,” he said.

Thus, Douglas Costa will become Bayern Munich’s second signing on the transfer market deadline this summer. Previously, they had successfully secured the services of Eric Chuppo Moting from PSG.

In his first period at Bayern Munich, Costa himself collected no less than 14 goals and 77 matches.
