BPJS is one of the government programs of the President Jokowi’s era, it can be said that this one program is enough to help the lower middle class. Just like health insurance, it’s just that the monthly fees are cheap for class 2, even class 1 is still affordable.
Not surprisingly, since it was first introduced, many people have registered to get this BPJS Health facility. But allegedly because of many problems that have emerged since its launch, the Government finally made a significant change. As of January 1, 2020, official BPJS contributions have risen by 100 percent.
For example, if you have a Class 2 Health Facility, if you previously paid Monthly Contributions of 55 thousand, then since January you have to pay 110 thousand. Obviously, the increase in fees is no longer friendly for the lower middle class. No wonder many are flocking to reduce the BPJS facilities.
Degrade the class at BPJS is very able, Dwi Asmariyanti, Assistant Deputy for Management of Participant Services, BPJS Health, explained about the ease of class reduction in practical programs.
“In the past, the conditions had to be registered for one year before being able to drop out of class. Now, there is no need to wait for 1 year for JKN participants to be able to drop class, “he explained.
So, is there a deadline for class demotion? Actually there is no, just explained further, that the limited period is only an administrative requirement, namely from 9 December 2019 to 30 April 2020.
“For the actual class reduction process can be done at any time, but there are specificities in terms of administrative requirements that we set the period earlier,” he continued.
The government also provides a super-practical program, where the program allows participants to be able to directly reduce their BPJS classes. However, the period is limited, also until 30 April 2020.
“This super-practical program will later on the participants when the process of declining, the status can immediately go down,” he concluded.
Actually, BPJS Health is very beneficial for the middle to lower classes, because they can use the facility even though they have just registered, whether for mild to severe cases such as major operations, and so on.
