Casemiro supports Ronaldo to win Ballon d’Or this year

Unlike most Real Madrid players, midfielder Casemiro actually supports his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo to win this year’s Ballon d’Or award, instead of Luka Modric. The Brazilian official admitted that Modric had a wonderful year, but Ronaldo’s contribution and appearance were more visible in the 2017/18 campaign.

As is known, Luka Modric got a lot of support from a number of parties to win the award for the world’s best player this year. Previously, he had indeed won the competition with Mohamed Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo for this year’s European best player category.

Modric then returned to having to compete with the two players in the FIFA top 3 candidates for the world’s best players. These three players also will compete for the title Ballon d’Or from France Football. Many people continue to support this Croatian midfielder, Luka Modric.

In the 2017/18 campaign, he contributed greatly to the success of Los Blancos in defending the European Champions League title. Then, he also delivered the Croatian National Team to the final round of the annual tournament. Casemiro admitted that Modric had a wonderful year, but for Cristiano Ronaldo he was the player who deserved to win the annual title.

“The year of Luka (Modric) went spectacular, but in my opinion, I will give it (Ballon d’Or) to Cristiano Ronaldo because he has been the best throughout last season.” said Casemiro as quoted by fourfourtwo.

This season, Ronaldo underwent a new round in his career with Juventus. If Ronaldo was able to give his best performance with Juventus until the Balloon d ‘Or was announced in December, it is likely that he will get the award again.
