Cesar Azpilicueta as the mainstay defender and captain of Chelsea finally spoke up about the news claiming he was in a confrontation with Antonio Rudiger. What did the captain say?
For information, Cesar Azpilicuetta himself is one of the senior players at Chelsea, where he has been part of the London club since 2012. At that time, the defender was brought in from the French Ligue 1 Club, Olympique Marseille.
His performance in the Chelsea defense is unquestionable, but lately the former Osasuna has indeed been frequently hit by oblique news. Including one of them is the issue that he often got into conflict with Antonio Rudiger in training sessions.
However, speaking after the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at dawn WIB (29/01), Azpilicuetta emphasized that the debate between him and Rudiger is normal for any team, but their relationship is fine.
“We always work together. Just like other players, we discuss sometimes, as usual in football. When the results don’t go well, everyone has more tension, but not more than that.”
“Footballers are just like workers in offices or other jobs who have pressure who have to work hard and nothing more. There is no problem, we are very committed.” said Azpilicueta.
Chelsea itself has indeed had a series of bad results this season, which has also resulted in Frank Lampard being expelled from the manager’s chair.
However, Azpilicuetta emphasized that the series of bad results did not occur because of the unfavorable dressing room situation.
“There is no doubt about the unity of the group. Obviously, when things are not going well, things come out but we are still strong, either experienced players or young players.”
“For some people, this is the first time they have had a manager change. When the results come, everyone will be more positive and, hopefully, when we end the season on target, everyone will be happy.” He said.
After sacking Frank Lampard earlier this week, Chelsea then appointed Thomas Tuchel to be their new manager.
