Frank Lampard’s troops, Chelsea are considered more likely to win the Premier League this season than Tottenham Hotspur. This assumption came from the former Blues midfielder, Craig Burley.
Tottenham Hotspur itself is considered to have the potential to become a title contender in the Premier League this season. This is inseparable from the presence of Jose Mourinho in the managerial chair since last season.
It can also be seen that the performance of Harry Kane et al has increased at the beginning of this season. A series of good results were obtained, such as the 6-1 win over Manchester United and the 2-0 win over Manchester City.
With these good results, The Lily Whites are now at the top of the standings with 20 points from 9 matches that have taken place.
A somewhat contrasting story experienced by Chelsea, Frank Lampard’s squad looked less convincing at the start of this season. But there has been little improvement in the last few games.
Well, that improvement is what Craig Burley lauds about. According to him, Chelsea has better quality than Tottenham on almost all fronts.
“Oh yes. I think Chelsea are a much more talented team than Spurs. Tottenham have a good squad but Chelsea have an incredible number of attacking players.”
“They have had great experience with the signing of Thiago Silva. They have a natural left-back at Ben Chilwell. Reece James is rocketing. He’s taking his game to a new level,” he told ESPN.
N’Golo Kante’s performance seemed to have returned to his best form made Craig Burley even more enthusiastic about Chelsea’s chances. He considered that the Blues were more likely to become Premier League champions at the end of the season.
“They have strengthened their goalkeeping situation and Frank has mentioned that N’Golo Kante looks like a player years ago,”
“I just think Chelsea have better options. They are in the best condition possible to compete for the title,” said Burley.
Indeed, currently Chelsea are very close to Tottenham Hotspur who are at the top. Sitting in second place, the Blues are only two points behind.
