Conte prefers Vidal rather than Eriksen

Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan are claimed to have two good options in the winter transfer window this January, as they are eyeing a midfielder. There are Christian Eriksen and Arturo Vidal available, but it is believed coach Antonio Conte is more interested in bringing Vidal than Eriksen, who is in fact much younger.

Inter Milan are said to be after a midfielder, as coach Antonio Conte feels the sector is a weak point for his team. If it is patched, the former Juve coach believes the Nerazzurri will be even better in the second half of the season. So far there are two rumored players will move closer to Giuseppe Meazza. They are Arturo Vidal and Christian Eriksen who are said to be on the Inter transfer list.

Arturo Vidal himself wants to leave from Barcelona because he rarely gets the chance to appear as a starter. While Christian Eriksen is already at the end of his contract with Tottenham Hotspur. But, The Mirror claims that Conte already has its own preferences regarding his new midfielder.

The former Chelsea coach is claimed to have prioritized Vidal’s transfer over Eriksen this January. According to the report Conte’s main consideration was recruiting Vidal rather than Eriksen because of his playing style. Conte thinks Eriksen, a type of playmaker, is not really needed in his team. He more needs the figure of a box to box midfielder to support the game system.

For this reason, Vidal, who is rated as a typical box to box midfielder, will be more suited to his team than Christian Eriksen. Apart from the need for tactics, Conte was interested in recruiting Vidal because of the proximity he had. As is known, Conte had worked with the Chile national team player when he was in charge of Juventus for three seasons.

In fact, when it can be said Vidal became one of the figures who played a major role in Conte’s success at Juventus, so Conte was interested in recruiting him because he knew the outside and inside of Vidal’s figure. However, it looks like Vidal’s opportunity to join the San Siro will be very minimal.

Because the Barcelona coach, Ernesto Valverde had said that his party was not at all interested in releasing the former Bayern Munich player.
