The World Football Association, FIFA has finally announced 3 names of players who are the top candidates for the world’s best players this year, and the three players include Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Mohamed Salah. Interestingly, there is no name for the Barcelona mega star, Lionel Messi, whose name is usually tucked into the list for the past decade.
As is known, FIFA has officially parted ways with Ballon d’Or since 2016 ago. That way, the awarding format returns again as before. After Cristiano Ronaldo won the world’s best player’s top award for the past two years, the Portuguese mega-star is now back in the list of candidates for the top three of this annual award.
Interestingly, the name Lionel Messi who has always been included in the top 3 candidates for the world’s best player awards over the past decade, this time it was absent. In fact, La Pulga is quite classy with Barcelona last season. But the two names that fill the remaining slots, Mohamed Salah and Luka Modric are also no less brilliant than Messi.
Modric successfully delivered Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final, after previously bringing Real Madrid to win the European Champions League for the third time in a row. The following are nominations for this year’s FIFA award winners.
