Guardiola thanks Aguero for extending his contract at Manchester City

Good news for Manchester City’s fans, one of the club’s mainstay strikers since 2011 ago, Sergio Aguero has officially extended his contract at Etihad Stadium, until 2021. Associated with the new contract of the Argentine player, manager Pep Guardiola claimed to be very happy.

Sergio Aguero has actually become a part of Manchester City, since he was brought in from Atletico Madrid in the transfer market in the summer of 2011. Since then, the player who is also called Kun Aguero, continue to be a mainstay of Manchester City on the front lines, regardless of who the manager sits on the coach seat.

He had struggled with injury and also the presence of a new striker like Gabriel Jesus, but those things did not make Aguero lose his position on Manchester City’s first team. Currently thIS Argentine player’s contract at Etihad is until 2020. There was an indication that the player would not continue his career with the Premier League giants.

But after the talks, these two parties finally agreed to a new contract that will bind the Aguero till 2021. The new contract was then welcomed by manager Pep Guardiola.

“I am very happy we can extend his contract and keep him 10 years at one club. Previously it was easier to find players who would stay in the same club throughout their careers. It’s not bad when players try to find new languages, or go to new places with their families, play in other leagues and improve themselves.”

“It happened with Sergio. He left Argentina to go to Madrid and then came here. He is an important player for the club, not just a team. I don’t know if he will finish his career here, because I don’t know what will happen after two or three years, but it is fun to be able to rely on him.” said Guardiola as reported by Sky Sports.
