“Inter Milan could be stronger than this!”

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku was dissatisfied with Inter Milan’s draw against Borussia Moenchengladbach. According to the player, Inter should be able to play better and achieve better results too.

Inter Milan met representatives of the German Bundesliga in the first week of the European Champions League Group preliminary round at dawn WIB, Thursday (22/10).

In that match, Lukaku scored twice for the Nerazzurri. Unfortunately, the match ended in a 2-2 draw, after Ramy Bensebaini and Jonas Hoffman each scored a goal back for the visitors.

That way the inaugural match at the UCL event this season only yields one point for Antonio Conte’s men.

This equally strong result is like repeating what happened last season, where Inter only drew against Slavia Prague.

Meanwhile, the club’s journey last season was endless sweet, they were eliminated in the group phase after only sitting in 3rd position in the final standings by collecting only 7 points.

It is clear that the Inter players are disappointed, including Romelu Lukaku. He believes that Inter Milan should be even better. Especially if you look at the fact that the club has never won in the last three matches in all competitions.

“This is not a good result in my opinion, because we can do better. We have to keep working and become stronger mentally, because this is not an easy moment and we have to continue to believe in our quality,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Not only mentally problematic, Lukaku considers his team’s defense line also needs to be improved. The reason is, the club has conceded 10 goals in the last 5 matches in all competitions.

“Now we have to get stronger, especially mentally, and get better in defense, because we conceded two goals through our own mistakes,”

“We make too many mistakes and also waste opportunities up front. If we don’t take advantage of it, we can suffer the consequences,” he concluded.

Inter Milan don’t have much time to clean up, they have to prepare to face Genoa in the Italian Serie A continued this weekend.
