Jorginho is highly wanted by Maurizio Sarri at Juventus

Former Juventus Sports Director, Luciano Moggi also commented on the speculation of Jorginho’s transfer to Turin, which later became a lively conversation. According to him, coach Maurizio Sarri really wanted the presence of the Brazilian midfielder in Turin.

Jorginho is considered as one of the players that Maurizio Sarri relied on so much. At least, that was seen during the interpreter’s tactics dealing with Napoli and Juventus.

The 28-year-old midfielder has always been a mainstay player, both when he was still in charge of Napoli, and when he became Chelsea’s coach last season. The two then separated, Sarri officially joined Juventus, while Jorginho stayed at Chelsea.

Initially, Maurizio Sarri was believed to intend to bring Jorginho to Turin, but his efforts failed. Even so, the question is still not given up in his efforts to reunite with the Italian national team players in Turin.

Reportedly, Juventus management plans to make an exchange with Chelsea, offering Miralem Pjanic as a medium to hook Jorginho.

Whether true or not, but clearly according to Luciano Moggi, Jorginho really coveted Sarri to be in his squad next season.

“I don’t think he will change Pjanic in midfield. However, the real target is Jorginho. He is a player who knows Sarri well, they spent many years together at Napoli and then at Chelsea. Moggi said on the Italian television channel, 7 Gold.

Juve also claimed to plan to recruit Arthur Melo from Barcelona if he fails to buy Jorginho. Related to this, Moggi considers Marco Verratti to be a better alternative.

As an alternative, Verratti could come to Turin, not Arthur said.

Not only Jorginho, Juve was even linked with Argentine striker Mauro Icardi. But Moggi is not sure that the Argentine was targeted by Bianconneri because Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo were still there. Even if Higuain is sold, there are still better recruits.

“Icardi? As long as there are Dybala and Ronaldo, it doesn’t make sense to include another striker for the last sixteen yards. If they sell Higuain, players like Milik will benefit. He is a great player who can be a differentiator from the bench.” He said.
