Gareth Bale finally officially returns to his former coach, Tottenham Hotspur. The Welshman admitted that Jose Mourinho’s presence in the managerial chair was the reason why he accepted the proposal from the London club.
Yes, in the end the Welsh National Team Winger left Real Madrid. In fact, he has often been rumored to be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu, because the situation does not allow the player to survive.
In fact, in the transfer market last summer, he almost joined the Chinese club. However, his move was not realized due to the cancellation from Real Madrid itself.
Now, after surviving the 2019/20 season, Bale finally decided to leave this summer. The former Southampton player returned to the arms of one of his former clubs, Tottenham Hotspur.
Based on Tottenham’s official release, Bale himself joined on loan. But apart from that, the winger could be a great addition to Jose Mourinho’s team.
Bale himself admitted that his decision to join Tottenham Hotspur was due to the presence of Jose Mourinho in the managerial chair.
The Portuguese coach has spoken with the player regarding his plans for this season.
“He talked to me about some of the positions he wanted me to take and obviously I am happy with that. He is a big reason for me to come back here. He is a famous name and a winner,” Bale told BT Sport.
In fact, Mourinho had lost his “prestige” as a top coach, due to several sackings in the last few years.
Even so, Bale believes that the man from Portugal is indeed the right person to handle Tottenham Hotspur at this time.
“He is very suitable for Tottenham. We need to win trophies and he knows how to do it better than anyone,” he said.
“I know every Tottenham fan really needs a trophy and we will try our best in every competition to do that,” said Bale.
Bale and Mourinho have never worked together before, when the player joined Real Madrid in 2013, Mourinho had already been kicked out of the manager’s seat.
