Juventus moved quickly to find a solution related to the injury of one of their mainstay defenders this season, Leonardo Bonucci. The defending champion of Italian Serie A champions took advantage of this winter transfer market by landing their former player, Martin Caceres. Yes, Juventus have just inaugurated the transfer of a senior Uruguayan defender, Martin Caceres from Lazio on loan.
As is known, Juventus this season looks much better than the previous seasons in all competitions. Additional several new players make the defending champions Serie A Italy on the right track to win three competitions, the Italian Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the European Champions League. One of the new players that made the Bianconneri stronger was defender Leonardo Bonucci, as the Italian was sent home from AC Milan last summer.
Last week Bonucci suffered a pretty bad injury, so the concerned had to pull over for the next few weeks. This situation is certainly not good for Juventus, because Bonucci is a player who is very reliable by coach Max Allegri, and on the one hand the defending champion of the Italian Serie A has also sold Medhi Benatia, who has been Bonucci’s coating on the back line.
No wonder this situation made Juventus move quickly to attract new defenders to replace Bonucci’s role, and the player was Martin Caceres, one of the former mainstay defenders who are now defending Lazio. Caceres actually brought in Juventus on loan until the end of the season. As told by the coach Massimilliano Allegri, Caceres had the opportunity to go straight down to defend Juventus, when faced with host Atalanta in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday (30/1) tomorrow.
“Caceres is completing his transfer and, if all goes well, he can be available [for the match against Atalanta,” said Allegri before his departure was inaugurated.
In the previous two periods at Turin Caceres collected a total of 110 appearances and scored 6 goals. He stole five Scudetto plus two Coppa Italia trophies. The concerned left Juventus in the summer transfer window in 2017.
