Luis Suarez hints that Barca have given up on La Liga

Famous Barcelona striker, Luis Suarez hinted that his team had given up on the Spanish La Liga title race this season. There is still one crucial match, but Suarez is pessimistic about Barcelona’s chances.

For information, the defending La Liga champions in the last two seasons in a row are now ranked 2nd in the standings. In that position, Barcelona are four points behind Real Madrid at the top.

At present, there have been 36 matches that have taken place or in other words there are still 2 matches left. Supposedly, there is still a chance that at least Barcelona can expect Real Madrid to lose to the 37th Jornada tomorrow weekend.

Next Friday, July 17, 2020 Zinedine Zidane’s troops will face Villarreal. If you win, practically the title will fall into the hands of rival clubs. But if you lose, there is still competition until the last Jornada, with the condition that Barcelona also win over Osasuna.

In essence, there is still an opportunity for Barcelona on paper, but striker Luis Suarez looks pessimistic and even considers it impossible to defend the La Liga title for the third time in a row.

“If I have to be honest, league titles seem almost impossible,” Suarez told Sport.

Barcelona itself is somewhat a failure because it won three draws in their last 9 matches in the Spanish La Liga event. Only three points gained from those three matches, precisely against Sevilla, Celta Vigo and Atletico Madrid.

Of the three draws, Luis Suarez most regretted the draw against Celta Vigo which according to him should be won.

“It’s clear that the match against Sevilla is a match that makes things very difficult. We have the option to lead. That day is somewhat important but Vigo is the key. We lost the golden opportunity.”

“If we beat Celta, we would have a better chance against Atletico. His crushing blow came at Vigo, a last minute goal from Aspas. It hurts. Now we have to end the season well and go to the Champions League,” he continued.
