Bruno Fernandes, of course, felt disappointed with the defeat his team swallowed in the party against Manchester City last midweek. However, the Portuguese midfielder considers that the most important thing is that MU does not repeat the same mistakes in the future.
As is known, the Manchester Derby Duel was created on Thursday (7/1/2021) yesterday morning at Old Trafford. The match, titled the Carabao Cup semifinal, ended with a score of 2-0 to win the Citizens.
Each of the visitors’ goals were scored by John Stones and Fernandinho in the second half. Interestingly, the two goals were created from dead ball situations, as if to reinforce the Red Devils’ weak points.
But regardless, the failure extended Manchester United’s poor record in the semifinals. How come? In less than a year, they have failed in 4 semifinals, including last season’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Manchester City.
Obviously this fact is disappointing, including Bruno Fernandes himself, who has joined since January 2020.
While talking about this on Instagram, the Portuguese player admitted that he was saddened by the failure. Hopefully, there won’t be the same mistakes in the future.
“I am sad and disappointed because again failed to reach the final. We still have a lot of battles, but we have to learn and understand that the same mistakes must not be repeated,” he wrote on Instagram social media.
However, Bruno Fernandes emphasized that his team will continue to fight for other opportunities to win the championship trophy.
“We have to work hard to develop even further and be able to fight for the trophy!”
Indeed, Manchester United still has the potential to win the championship trophy in the 2020/21 season, including the Premier League trophy, the FA Cup and the European Champions League.
In fact, for the Premier League, MU has the opportunity to sit at the top of the standings if they successfully beat Burnley next week. This is because their points are the same as the top, Liverpool.
Meanwhile, in the FA Cup, Manchester United will face Watford in the third round this weekend.
