Arsenal have been officially handled by one of their legends, Mikel Arteta since the beginning of December. The man from Spain is expected to be able to evoke the performance of the Gunners who declined since the beginning of this season. Much support flowed to Arteta, including from his former colleague, Saint Cazorla.
As is known, Arsenal have officially kicked Unai Emery from the manager’s chair in November 2019 after a series of poor results at the start of the season. Freddie Ljunberg was appointed as interim manager, but in the end Mikel Arteta was believed to be a permanent coach not long ago. Arteta himself previously worked as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City.
Given that he retired from the gridiron two weeks ago and had never worked as a coach, many doubted Arteta. However, Cazorla himself had long predicted that Arteta would become a manager someday.
“Yes, I always believed that he would become a manager one day,” Cazorla told Goal International.
However, Cazorla tolerated the doubt of people about the quality of Arteta in the Arsenal manager’s chair. But he is very confident that the man from Spain can restore the glory of the Gunners.
“I believe he can be a great coach. But it is not easy for managers today to repeat what Wenger and Ferguson have done. I can’t guess how long he will be at Arsenal, but I know that he will have a good career there. He is the right manager for Arsenal, and I hope Mikel can lead Arsenal well.
Under Arteta’s direction, Arsenal itself has not actually shown any signs of revival. They are still in 10th position in the standings by only collecting 30 points from 24 matches. But Arteta began to get praise from Arsenal fans because Arsenal’s game more or less began to improve.
However, there are some things that are considered need to be addressed, including one of the defense lines that is considered dilapidated.
