Throwing claims occurred between Granit Xhaka’s agent and Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta regarding the future of the Swiss National Team midfielder. Previously, the agent claimed that Xhaka would leave for Germany this winter, but Arsenal’s new coach, Mikel Arteta said a different claim. He even guaranteed that Xhaka would survive.
The future of Granit Xhaka at Arsenal has indeed been questioned since he was having problems with the club’s supporters in the match against Crystal Palace some time ago. The confrontation also caused the captain’s tires to be removed from the Swiss player’s arm, and he was even pushed aside in several matches afterwards to cool the atmosphere.
However, instead of apologizing and understanding the club’s decision, Xhaka claimed he wanted to leave the Emirates Stadium in January because he was disappointed his captain’s arm had been removed unilaterally. A number of clubs were reportedly ready to accommodate the 27-year player. However, Mikel Arteta as the new Arsenal coach gave clarification.
The manager confirmed that Xhaka will definitely stay at the Emirates Stadium this winter.
“I think he will survive. He is very good. I like it very much. I think with his playing style, we will bring him, he can be a great player for this club, “Arsenal said as quoted by Goal International.
Arteta was urged to answer whether he had received a guarantee from Xhaka about his future. “Yes, he did,” answered Arteta.
Previously, a different claim was actually said by Jose Noguera as the Swiss national team transfer agent. He said that Xhaka had reached an agreement with one of the German Bundesliga clubs, Hertha Berlin for the move in January 2020.
For information, Hertha Berlin is indeed ambitious to become a title contender in the Bundesliga through an injection of funds from the owner, Lars Windhorst. After appointing Jurgen Klinsmann as coach, Hertha Berlin is also eyeing a number of top names, including Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze and Paris Saint-Germain star Julian Draxler.
But for Xhaka, so far there has been no confirmation from the German Bundesliga club.
