Morbidelli could be a world champion, but…

Ramon Forcada as Chief Crew Franco Morbidelli was also pleased to see that the racer managed to win at the San Marino MotoGP last week. In fact, he thought that the Italian Rider had a chance to become Champion.

In the 2020 MotoGP season, Morbidelli does appear to appear consistent. At the Spanish GP in the first series he finished in 5th position, even almost ranked 2nd in the second Series, if the engine was not damaged.

His first podium finally arrived in the Third Series in Czech, where he finished 2nd. In Austria, he fought in the top 8 before being hit by Johann Zarco.

Having slumped in Styria due to motor problems, Morbidelli rose to the San Marino series last week by being the fastest. He even immediately led the race from the second start and strolled free from his rivals until the finish.

“During the quarantine, he made changes. Since then everything has been going really well. In Jerez, he did well, in Brno he finished second, in Austria … it’s better to forget it. At Misano, we won, the place where he used to go up. R1. He has changed a lot since last winter, “said Forcada via Sky Sport.

With this achievement, Forcada is confident that the Petronas Yamaha SRT Team Rider can still develop even better. Moreover, his self-confidence is now on the rise.

“Franco still has a chance. This year he has made great progress, his confidence has increased. At the end of this week, he could achieve good results again,” he said ahead of MotoGP Emilia Romagna.

In fact, Forcada believes that Morbidelli could actually become world champion in MotoGP this year. It’s just that, the rider shouldn’t be too overwhelmed by this big target.

“He could be a champion because this time no one is dominant, but it won’t be easy. So, thinking about the title is not the right strategy, we just have to think about how to perform well in each race,” he concluded.
