Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has officially left Arsenal this summer to continue his career with Italian Serie A giants, AS Roma.
As is known, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has joined AS Roma since last summer on loan from Arsenal.
Together with the Italian Serie A club, the former Manchester United player performed well throughout the 2019/20 season. In total, Mkhitaryan has managed to record nine goals and six assists from 30 matches in all competitions.
The slick appearance of the former Borussia Dortmund player made AS Roma interested in buying him permanently. On the one hand, Arsenal are also no longer interested in keeping the 31-year-old player next season.
As a result, at the end of last season, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Arsenal agreed to terminate the work contract.
Well, not long after his separation from Arsenal, Henrikh Mkhitaryan from social media made an announcement that he had joined AS Roma permanently.
Likewise with Arsenal, who thanked Mkhitaryan for his contribution so far.
“Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Micki for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for his future with AS Roma,” quoted from Arsenal statement on its official website.
“I am pleased to announce that I have joined #Giallorossi permanently. I want to thank Arsenal, their personnel and the millions of #Gunners who have supported me for this 1.5 years,”
“A very special thanks to A. Wenger for bringing me to the club and also for his trust in me,” wrote Mkhitaryan.
For information, before this Mkhitaryan’s contract at Arsenal itself still remains until 2021.
On the one hand, it is not yet known how much the player has agreed on with his new club, AS Roma. The reason is, until now there has been no official statement from the Gialorossi.
What is clear, Mkhitaryan is AS Roma’s fifth signing in the transfer market this summer. Before Mkhitaryan, there were Jordan Veretout, Gianluca Mancini and Pedro Rodriguez who had officially joined the Olimpico.
