Ozil: I’d better retire instead of joining Tottenham

Even though his future at Arsenal is on the line, Ozil still seems to love the North London club. In fact, if an offer comes from a rival club, Tottenham Hotspur, it is better for the midfielder to retire.

To note, Mesut Ozil is currently under contract at Arsenal until next summer, so it is likely that he will leave the Emirates Stadium this winter or leave on a free transfer or free at the end of the season.

Recently, Ozil has been linked with one of the Turkish League clubs Fenerbahce, some have linked him with a number of other clubs. What is clear, leaving is indeed the right decision for Ozil at this time, considering that he is no longer included in the Arsenal squad.

In the midst of speculation about his future, the former Real Madrid star held a question and answer session on Twitter. The 32-year-old figure then tries to answer every question that comes in about his career journey.

Among these questions, there is one that is somewhat interesting, which is about the possibility of an offer from a rival club, Tottenham Hotspur.

If there was a contract offer from Tottenham and it was the only offer he got, which one would he choose. Ozil answered firmly,

“Easy question. Retire!” he replied.

Yes, this answer is enough to show that this Turkish-blooded man really loves Arsenal, even though his relationship with the club has recently seemed stretched.

At the age of 32 years, of course Ozil’s career will soon end from the green field. So, before hanging up his boots, Ozil admitted that he would continue his career in two more countries, including Turkey and the United States.

“Of course I will continue my career as a footballer. There are two countries I want to play football there before I retire: Turkey and the United States,” said Ozil.

Now, if you have to go to Turkey, then there is only one goal for the player, none other than Fenerbahce.

“If I go to Turkey, then I can only go to Fenerbahce,” he said.
