Brazilian National Team midfielder Philippe Coutinho has no question about public opinion regarding his performance which has not yet reached its maximum point. However, he hopes that there will be an understanding, considering that on the one hand the club is also in a transition period.
As is known, Coutinho has indeed joined Barcelona since the summer of 2018, but he was loaned to Bayern Munich during the 2019/20 season.
Now, he is back from his loan spell and of course it will prove that he deserves to be part of the Giant Catalan squad.
The presence of a new coach, Ronald Koeman, has clearly made Coutinho hope to become a mainstay again. Sure enough, from the eight matches in La Liga, he has scored four goals.
Still, Coutinho hasn’t escaped criticism, he is still under the spotlight. However, the person concerned cannot deny that he is not in the best form yet.
There are several factors that underlie the situation, including mental condition after the injury that had happened to him.
“I know my performance is still not up to everyone’s expectations. Barca are being noticed by many people and all I can say is that I have worked harder to improve my mentality.”
“And now, I think I am stronger in that,” said Coutinho as quoted by Goal.
Still, the public hopes that the performance of Coutinho and Barcelona as a whole can be even better. The former Liverpool is aware of this, but he asks the public to be more patient.
The reason is, Barcelona is currently in a transition period, so it is very natural that there is a decline in performance in various sectors.
“We are in the process of updating. We are changing coaches, players, all this is part of the revolutionary process. You have to be patient and try to do everything you can to be able to appear neat soon,” he concluded.
Barcelona itself did find a series of bad results at the start of this season. Most recently, they were even beaten from the bottom team, Cadiz in the Spanish La Liga continued last weekend.
In the middle of tomorrow, Barca will face Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
