Serbian midfielder Miralem Pjanic takes great pride in the fact that he was a teammate of two of the world’s best players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. In fact, the former AS Roma plans to tell this rare opportunity to his grandchildren later.
As is well known, Pjanic did become a teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo for two seasons at Juventus. The 30-year-old midfielder first joined Turin in 2016, while Ronaldo only joined in 2018.
After two seasons as Ronaldo’s team mate, Pjanic accepted a proposal from Barcelona last summer. At the Catalan Club, he later became a teammate of the Argentine mega star Lionel Messi.
Interestingly, at dawn WIB (29/10), Pjanic and his colleagues in Barcelona will travel to Turin to play the second week match of the European Champions League group phase.
“I spoke with Messi about the years I spent here, I spoke well about the club and the president. Nothing more than this, he is well informed, he knows Juventus very well, ”
“I’ve seen Juventus, there are different expectations but the start is always difficult because of injuries, there are some players missing and this new team needs time to develop,” said Pjanic as quoted by the Italian Football.
Indeed, in reality only a handful of players have had the experience of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, two of the world’s best players in the last decade, maybe even in the history of football.
Having a rare opportunity like this makes Pjanic very proud, he will also tell this to his grandson in the future.
“Incredible, I can play with Messi and Ronaldo, they are an absolute phenomenon, it’s nice to interact with them.”
“I will tell my grandchildren that they are one of the strongest players of all time and that I have played with both of them, not many players have done the same,” he continued.
Apart from Pjanic, several players who have had a similar experience are Angel Di Maria.
