Pochettino worried about Harry Kane’s current condition

Tottenham Hotspur not only experienced their defeat while hosting Manchester United in the Premier League match at Wembley last weekend, but they were also threatened with losing the main striker, Harry Kane, who found injury due to violations by Red Devils players. After the match, coach Mauricio Pochettino said he was worried about the situation of the 25-year-old player.

Tottenham Hotspur hosted Manchester United in the 22nd Premier League matchdays continued last Monday morning (01/14) local time. In the match, Tottenham, who played as the host, actually had many opportunities to reap full points. Unfortunately, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea made a number of brilliant saves to thwart the hosts’ victory.

Instead, Manchester United managed to take advantage of the Spurs defense off guard to change the scoreboard to 1-0 through Marcus Rashford’s brilliant action. As a result, Tottenham could not avoid defeat, and they lost three points. Indeed, this defeat does not necessarily make Spurs displaced from the top three, only because of that, they are now only one point ahead of Chelsea who are in fourth position, and left further from the top of the standings.

Not only that, Spurs are also threatened with losing their flagship striker, Harry Kane following the injury that the 25-year-old player suffered in yesterday’s match. Kane received a brutal tackle from one of United’s players, and coach Mauricio Pochettino also worried about the situation of his flagship player.

“My concern was that [Kane’s injury] was due to a bad tackle [from a United player] in the final moment of the match. The United player did it on purpose but it was a bad tackle and now he has a slight swelling in his ankle and he limps after dispersal. We will also lose Son to the Asian Cup and if Harry Kane is injured, this will be a big blow for us,” Pochettino said after the game.

Following his defeat, the Spurs were still stuck in third place with a collection of 48 points, 7 points ahead of United who finished 6th. Meanwhile, Kane himself has packed 20 goals from 30 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham Hotspur.
