Coronavirus is now a frightening specter for almost everyone, including the players themselves. Some might be surprised by this virus attack, but not with Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
The Spanish government has recently established a Lockdown policy. They also asked the community to quarantine themselves in their homes. The aim is clearly to minimize the spread of the Corona Virus or COVID-19.
This form of preventive action is fairly reasonable, considering that in Spain alone more than 1700 people have died as a result of the outbreak. In fact, in one day there were 394 people died because of Covid-19.
Many aspects which were then greatly affected by the policy were no exception to football itself. The Spanish La Liga has been officially postponed, and the Corona case that has befallen football players began to emerge over the past two weeks.
Many felt as if they did not believe, surprised that the threat of this virus was indeed very serious. But Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has felt a sign of danger from this virus since he visited Italy some time ago.
“That is not a surprise. When we went to Naples, many talked about it in Italy and I told Xavi that this could be worse,”
“Now this is the best thing we can do. I want to go out and take a walk, but that’s not necessary. We have to be indoors. I don’t like it, but this is important and must be done, “he told Barca TV
As is known, Barcelona did come to the headquarters of Naples in February to carry out the first leg of the round of 16 of the European Champions League. The party ended with a 1-1 draw.
Furthermore, Rakitic is aware that his colleagues will not be 100 percent fit after a month’s absence due to competition delays. But he believes, they still have a great desire to play again.
“It’s almost impossible to return to 100 percent after a month, but we won’t lack any passion at all,” added the Croatian midfielder.
Barcelona itself is scheduled to face Sevilla on 5 April, if indeed this delay is not extended.
