Erling Braut Haaland’s future is still in discussion, even though he is still under a long-term contract with Dortmund. Most recently, former Liverpool Dietmar Hamann advised the Norwegian player about his future.
The name Erling Braut Haaland has indeed been hunted by a number of European giants since his slick performance with RB Salzburg. Many offers came to the 20-year-old at that time, but in the end he chose to move to Dortmund in January 2020.
Together with the German Bundesliga club, Haaland’s performance is fairly good, where the 20-year-old striker has scored 19 goals on the League stage so far.
Interestingly, although he only joined Dortmund in January last year, Haaland has begun to be linked with a number of European giants recently, including the giant duo Manchester, Manchester United and Manchester City.
Well, here Dietmar Hamann tries to argue about this speculation, where according to him Erling Haaland is not the type of player who is suitable for Manchester City’s style.
“I don’t think Haaland is a typical Manchester City player,” he told Stadium Astro.
Hamann does not see the possibility of Haaland joining the Etihad, not only about the player but also Manchester City will think the same.
“I can’t see him joining Man City. I’m also not sure City are interested in using his services,”
“City have a style of play that likes to pass the ball from line to line. I’m not sure Haaland will fit into that style of play,” he said.
Compared to Manchester city, Erling Haaland’s style of play would be more suitable to be paired with Manchester United, it’s just that the Red Devils are currently still having trouble convincing star players to join.
“I think Haaland would be much more suitable at United than City, because Manchester United have a lot of players who are fast and like to counter-attack,”
“Will United be able to get Haaland in the summer? I think it could happen if Dortmund fail to qualify for the Champions League. This situation makes Dormtund have to sell Haaland and Sancho, and both of them can move to United,” he said.
