Sterling shows his happiness when Liverpool won the Champions League

Don’t be like peanuts forget the skin, maybe this proverb deserves to be pointed out to Raheem Sterling who never forget a club that gives a light of fame as a professional soccer player.

Here, Sterling wants to show his happiness when he sees Liverpool’s success in winning the Champions League, even though everyone knows that he is now a player from Liverpool’s eternal rival in the English Premier League, Manchester City.

Liverpool underwent a special moment in the 2018-2019 season, they did fail to become Premier League champions after finishing runner-up under Manchester City. But Jurgen Klopp’s squad still won in Europe, by successfully beating Tottenham 2-0 in the Champions League final.

The Reds’ two-goal winners were scored by Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi at the start and end of the match. The status of Champions League champions also made Liverpool’s confidence higher and ready to fight in the hunt for the Premier League season 2019-2020.

Interestingly here, when Liverpool and Manchester City struggled with each other to show their quality in the Premier League stage. Manchester City, who won the championship, had to fight freely with Jurgen Klopp’s foster children because the fight occurred until the last week, and the result they were only able to lead one point ahead of Liverpool.

Sterling and Manchester City with their success in becoming Premier League champions did not care about the attitude of the fans who quite often made him a target of resentment every time he visited Anfield, but still basically that he was happy to see Jordan Handerson cs lift the European Big Cup.

“It’s nice to see Liverpool win, this feeling flows happily to see some friends lift the Champions League trophy,” Sterling said to the media.

Sterling and Manchester City were under tremendous pressure in the upcoming 2019-2020 season, after two lucky successes to become Premier League champions, they are now pressured to lift the Champions League trophy next season.

“What we have done every day in the last season, every week and that is out of whack. The Champions League feels great for us as a club, but the most important thing is to win the Premier League. That is our main target this season, “Sterling added.

Referring to the comments, Sterling clearly emphasized the Premier League rather than the Champions League champions. Trying to keep the highest trophy in England to stay at the Etihad Stadium will run very difficult, and that challenge is what makes Sterling so thirsty for the Premier League title.

“The next season will be different from the previous season, and it will definitely run very hard. Being able to win this title three times in a row is a big challenge for us. Liverpool, all these big clubs, will try to take that title from us. But there are no players here who feel they are the best. There is no ego in the dressing room, no players think like Pele or Maradona, “he concluded.

Apart from failing to win the Champions League, Manchester City‘s overall performance last season was a remarkable achievement because they managed to defend the Premier League title twice in a row.
