This former Barcelona player revealed he has had a grudge against Koeman

One of the former Barcelona players, Gerard Deulofeu spoke about the new coach of his former club, Ronald Koeman. The player who is now defending Watford has bad memories when he was handled by the Dutch man.

For information, Gerard Deulofeu himself is actually one of the results of the La Masia academy education. But he was not successful at the Catalan Club, then moved to Everton in 2015.

Together with the Premier League mid-table team, Deulofeu worked for coach Ronald Koeman who incidentally is a Barcelona legend.

Unfortunately, the cooperation between the two figures did not last long. Deulofeu only lasted a season before deciding to move to AC Milan on loan.

Likewise with Koeman who only handled Everton one season, he was thrown out of the managerial chair because he failed to reap positive results. After working with the Dutch national team, Koeman is now working as Barcelona coach.

Deulofeu responded cynically to the appointment of the tactician, he considered Koeman the figure responsible for his departure to Milan.

“I can tell you about Koeman based on my personal experience, and I don’t have much information about him,”

“He didn’t give me anything. I didn’t feel happy, I asked to leave and then move to Milan. You will see what he does at Camp Nou,” Deulofeu told Catalunya Radio.

Even though he has been officially appointed as Barcelona’s new manager, Ronald Koeman cannot guarantee that the club will continue to maintain it. The reason is, the club’s new presidential candidate, Victor Front, had emphasized that he did not want the Dutch man to handle Messi and his friends if he was elected.

Barcelona is currently in crisis, they failed to win the title and ended the season with a tragic 2-8 defeat to Bayern Munich in the European Champions League.

The series of problems experienced by Barcelona at this time invited many opinions from a number of parties. But not so with Gerard Deulofeu who admitted that he no longer cared about his former club.

“Actually [the situation] Barcelona did not bother me. To be precise, at the moment, I don’t care,” he concluded.
