This former Barcelona player suggested Messi to join PSG

Barcelona fans are worried about Paris Saint-Germain’s open interest in the club’s superstar Lionel Messi. Interestingly, one of the club legends, Rivaldo, actually suggested La Pulga to accept the offer.

Indeed, Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona is still a puzzle. It is not certain whether the captain will stay at Camp Nou or not next season.

What is clear, Messi’s contract at Barcelona currently remains until the end of the 2020/21 season, while the player has been desperate to move since last summer.

So far, Messi is still very reliable, but on the one hand there is no new contract agreement.

One thing is for sure, with the winter transfer window officially opening, Messi should be able to enter into pre-contract negotiations with other clubs.

According to information heard, there are at least two European giants who are interested in the Argentine mega star, including Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain has even issued an open statement that they are indeed interested in the 33-year-old figure.

Responding to the interest of Les Parisiens, a Barcelona legend, Rivaldo actually supported Messi to move to the French Ligue 1 club.

However, it is not without reason that Rivaldo gives such advice, he thinks PSG’s new coach, Mauricio Pochettino will suit Lionel Messi’s playing style, plus Neymar’s presence there.

“They will be a good option for him, especially since the club has an Argentina manager in Mauricio Pochettino.”

“Messi will also reunite with his friend Neymar, so he has several reasons to say ‘yes’ to the club if there is an application,” Rivaldo said in a Betfair column, as quoted by Marca.

Apart from technical matters, Rivaldo also considers PSG’s financial strength to pay the salary of Lionel Messi.

“Financially, only a few clubs can pay it better than PSG. So I think it would be a good option for Messi,” he said.

“French football has also benefited a lot from its presence in terms of media and sponsorship,” said Rivaldo.
