Paris Saint-Germain tactician Thomas Tuchel considers his team lucky enough to finally won over Atalanta and qualify for the semi-finals of the European Champions League.
Early today WIB (13/08), Les Parisiens did face Atalanta in the European Champions League quarter-final match.
In the match which took place at the Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Les Parisiens were left behind by a goal scored by Mario Pasalic at the beginning of the first half.
In fact, the score of 0-1 continued until the first half ended. In the second half, Thomas Tuchel’s troops still couldn’t catch up, until finally at the end of the match Marquinhos scored a goal which made the score draw 1-1.
Then in the minutes of additional time, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting managed to bring the defending French Ligue 1 champions back to winning 1-2. That way, Paris Saint-Germain can continue their steps to the semi-finals.
After the match, coach Thomas Tuchel was very happy with the success of his players. But the German manager also couldn’t deny the fact that the victory was tainted by luck.
“For me, it was a deserved win, but if you score a goal too late, it is also a luck. But I’m the first to admit that you need luck.” said Tuchel on the official UEFA website.
