Inter Milan is confirmed without Romelu Lukaku when they face Real Madrid on Wednesday morning WIB (04/11). But according to defender Raphael Varane, this fact does not necessarily make Antonio Conte’s men underestimated.
Inter Milan’s appearance since Conte took over as manager last season did look much better. They were even able to finish as runner-up in the Italian Serie A with only one point behind the top, Juventus.
But at the start of this season, La Beneamata looked a little difficult. In a sense, this is due to the absence of Romelu Lukaku, who suffered a serious injury for some time.
The last time, Inter even came close to losing to Parma, they were two goals behind before dramatically scoring two goals in return to make the score a 2-2 draw.
In this unfavorable condition, Inter are instead faced with a super tough opponent, Real Madrid. The two teams will face each other in the 3rd week of the European Champions League group phase at WIB (04/11).
As for Real Madrid, this is clearly an advantage, especially considering they had two bad results in the previous match.
However, defender Raphael Varane does not feel that way, he thinks Inter Milan is still a dangerous team and could be a big threat to Los Blancos in the duel later.
“Inter still have other players, a complete team who attack very quickly and create danger. We have to do our best to win,”
“This will be one of the matches where attacking is very important. We have the character and players to face this challenge well,” said Madrid defender Raphael Varane, as quoted by Football Italia.
Even so, Varane cannot deny the fact that Sergio Ramos’ return in the match will be a great addition for Real Madrid.
“I think Sergio’s absence was very pronounced on our debut in the Champions League. He gave character and experience,”
“I feel good with him, definitely better, but the most important thing is collectivity. Tomorrow we will unite and play as a team,” concluded the Frenchman.
