Fans of Lionel Messi should be proud because the jersey number 10 on the Argentine national team, which is usually worn by the player was made a souvenir by President of Argentina, Mauricio Macri to give to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.
The souvenir is a symbol of cooperation between Jokowi (Indonesia) and Mauricio Macri (Argentina), on a state visit to Indonesia on Wednesday, 26 June 2019 at the Presidential Palace in Bogor.
Macri who came along with the first lady, Juliana Awada, could be said to be the first visit to Indonesia. From the expressions of both parties, it could be said that everything went smoothly with cooperation that was expected to be mutually beneficial for both parties.
Interestingly here is when the jersey given to President Jokowi is clearly special. Because number 10 is a sacred number in football that can only be used by selected players or we could say only a star can wear a jersey with that back number.
For now, the Argentine national team number 10 jersey is worn by Barcelona star, Lionel Messi. Maybe you could say that moment is a football moment, how not? President Jokowi himself also gave souvenirs in the form of balls to President Macri.
In his remarks, President Jokowi shared the moment of this collaboration by uploading his picture on Instagram, when he received the jersey from President Macri. Not forgetting the contents of the post filled with a welcome note to Macri and his wife.
“A jersey from the Argentina national team with number 10 is the souvenir of the President of the Republic of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, who visited Indonesia accompanied by First Lady, Madame Juliana Awada today. While I present an Indonesian soccer ball, “wrote President Jokowi.
“We exchanged ball-themed souvenirs after the reception, warm conversations on the veranda talk, and bilateral meetings between the two-state delegations at Bogor Presidental Palace, this afternoon. Welcome to President Mauricio Macri and Madame Juliana Awada,” wrote Jokowi on his personal Instagram account.
It is interesting to dissect more deeply how President Jokowi was so confident in giving a souvenir of a soccer ball to President Macri. The ball is the work of craftsmen from Majalengka, West Java, which is arguably global.
Macri also looked happy, when he got the souvenir by holding the ball very tightly. Soon, he reflected the ball to the floor and caught it again. Macri seemed to be very appreciative of what President Jokowi had given because the action did not stop once, and it was proven that Macri did an attraction in heading the ball.
