Barcelona legend, Xavi Hernandez will begin his new career as coach of the Qatar football team. As preparation, the legend dreamed of someday being the coach of his former team in the Spanish La Liga.
Barcelona can be called the opportunity for Xavi in his career as a professional footballer. He began a football life with the Barcelona academy, before finally becoming the Blaugrana’s midfield star during the seasons.
Xavi’s loyalty cannot be questioned, throughout his career he successfully gave 22 titles for Barcelona. It consists of seven La Liga trophies, two Copa Del Rey trophies, five Spanish Super Cup trophies, four Champions League trophies, two European Super Cup trophies, and two Club World Cup trophies.
Recently, Xavi has released his last career as a professional player with Al Sadd. Despite closing his career with defeat, Xavi’s big name cannot be debated and remains one of the world’s best former midfielders.
Interestingly here, when deciding to hang shoes as a player, Xavi is now seen pursuing the world of coaching and is very ready to become a coach. One big dream of Xavi is that he can be a Barcelona coach in the future.
“My plan is to start here, as the coach of the Qatar team to gain experience. This is definitely my stepping stone to return to European football and yes, I hope it’s Barcelona, but right now I’m not in that position,” said Xavi.
Xavi realizes that his current capacity is not enough to become a big team coach as his experience does not yet exist and counts only this time training the soccer team in his own style.
“Roles like this are not ready for me and to be at the top level and I need to be able to take small steps before reaching my final goal. My idea is quite a lot and the concept of how I want football to be played and how I want to continue it to the players of the future,”
“I always admire the Barcelona game, their control of the game and their style. It is something I want to reflect on in my own career as a coach,” Xavi concluded.
